3688 Bitcoin ATMs Went Offline In The United States in March; Coinhub To Place 1000 More

At least 3688 were removed from the US market during the month of March, according to the data from Coin ATM Radar. This is the largest net monthly change on record.The steep decline may be related to General Bytes ATM critical vulnerability. 1663 ATMs have also went offline in January, along with 275 in February, adding up to a total of 5,625 Bitcoin and crypto ATMs removed in the United States year to date.The US continues to have the largest concentration of Bitcoin ATM machines globally, with 28,565 machines operating as of April 3, 2023.  An all-time high of Bitcoin AMT machines in the US was 34,513, registered in August 2022.Other regions have not witnessed such dramatic changes this year.
